Open Day 2019
Due to Coronavirus our open day is postponed for now.
Please check back regularly for for anouncements.
This year the team at AJ Dunlop Car Servicing held their 10th Open Day at their workshop, raising £4000 for charity MacMillan Cancer Care.
The Open Day began with the Deputy Mayor, Alistair Pike, opening the event alongside Paddy Hopkirk; 1964 Monte Carlo rally champion.
There was a great display of cars on show including a DMC DeLorean (think “Back to the Future”!), an elegant Jaguar E-type convertible and a lean mean McLaren 570S. We were also graced with a beautiful ’74 Aston Martin, a delightful Austin 7 and the loveliest Alvis alongside many other cars and motorbikes.
Initially there were a just few people turning up but, as the weather improved, a lot more people arrived at the garage. Alex Dunlop the owner said he would have been happy if 80 people came along so was delighted when the head count went over 200.
The team were working hard on the BBQ selling great quality burgers (which received a lot of positive comments), Pimm’s and other beverages were available from the bar and there were wonderful homemade cakes, cookies and shortbreads.
The Raffle was also very popular with a wide selection of high value prizes.
AJ Dunlop would like to thank all the individuals and companies that have supported the running of this event. There are too many to list here and their generosity and support has been invaluable.
